The short version

Your practice — the japs you do, the mantra you choose, your streak, and the apps you choose to shield — is stored only on your device and is never uploaded anywhere. Naam does not sell your data to anyone. The sections below cover the specific, narrower things the app's payment and advertising components collect, and why.

Practice data (japs, mantras, streaks, Focus Coins)

Your mala jap counts, chosen mantra, meditation sessions, streak, coin balance, and the list of apps you've chosen to shield are stored locally on your device inside your device's protected storage. None of this is transmitted to Naam, to our service providers, or to anyone else. If you delete the app, this data is gone.

Subscriptions and purchases

Naam Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store using StoreKit, with RevenueCat used to verify and sync your subscription status across devices. RevenueCat receives a device- and purchase-linked identifier and your transaction status — never your payment details, which Apple handles directly and Naam never sees.

Rewarded ads (free plan only)

If you're on the free plan, starting a scroll break or adding an app to your shield (after your trial) can involve watching a short rewarded ad, served by Google AdMob. Subscribers on Naam Pro never see ads and never trigger an ad request.

Every ad request from Naam is configured for non-personalized ads only — we do not show Apple's tracking permission prompt (App Tracking Transparency) because we do not track you across other apps or websites. AdMob's own infrastructure may still process, for fraud prevention and ad delivery:

This is disclosed in full in Naam's App Store privacy label once the app is listed.

Screen Time permission

If you grant Naam access to Screen Time (Apple's Family Controls), the list of apps you choose to shield is encrypted by Apple's framework and never leaves your device — Naam itself cannot see which specific apps you've selected in a form it could transmit, and doesn't try to.

Analytics

Naam uses PostHog, a product analytics tool, to understand aggregate patterns — for example, how many people complete onboarding — so we can improve the app. These events are not linked to your practice data, your name, or your email address.

What we don't do

Children's privacy

Naam is rated for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us using the details below and we'll remove it.

Your choices

You can disable Screen Time access, delete your shielded-app selection, or delete the app entirely at any time — all practice data is removed with it. To request deletion of any data our service providers (RevenueCat, AdMob, PostHog) hold about your device, contact us below.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
